PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the virtual home of the Ivy Centennial Foundation, Incorporated, or ICF as it is fondly referred.  We invite you to visit our website, peruse our programs and activities, and learn more about our history, our mission, and our commitment to transforming the lives of those we serve.

The Culver City/West Los Angeles community is home to ICF with a reach that extends throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.  We aim to improve “the community” by assisting vulnerable populations in becoming self-sufficient through education, academic achievement, and cultural experiences, with attention to their mental, physical, and financial health and well-being.

ICF embraces the notion that “We are our brothers (and sisters) keepers.”  What is so exciting about ICF is that its organizers had a local view of a “better community,” and continue to embrace a global view of a better world that starts in the community and extends outward to reach others.

The ICF members began their mission by assessing the educational needs of students in the nearby communities. They discovered that scholarships and educational focus for students addressed only one segment of the targeted population.  Further assessments indicated that adults, families, veterans, refugees, and other vulnerable populations around the community also needed support to transform their lives.

How does ICF sustain itself? The ICF founders’ voices and their mission are both powerful and exciting because of their perspective on “what could be;” hence, the Ivy Centennial Foundation, Inc. emerged as a sustainable non-profit corporation in 2014.  ICF succeeds through the generosity of foundation members, friends, supporters, and people like you.  In addition to fundraising, our success is possible due to the commitment of volunteers and the efforts of ICF donors and contributors.

How does ICF use its funds?  ICF establishes partnerships and collaborations that enable us to create sustainable funding streams to support education, and scholarships and to contribute to efforts that address food insecurity, housing insecurity, and myriad conditions that befall our communities.

I trust you will find our virtual home as exciting as its 150-plus active members.  ICF is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation, created to serve the community’s most vulnerable populations.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Fondly,

Barbara Denson Trotter, Ed.D.

ICF President
